Women Bishops Legislative Drafting Group announced

The Archbishops' Council has agreed the membership of the legislative drafting group to consider proposals for allowing women to be consecrated as bishops. The drafting group was called for in a motion carried by the General Synod in July 2006.

The members of the Women Bishops Legislative Drafting Group will be:

  • The Rt Revd Nigel McCulloch, Bishop of Manchester  (chair)
  • The Ven Donald Allister, Archdeacon of Chester
  • The Revd Jonathan Baker
  • The Rt Worshipful Dr Sheila Cameron, Dean of the Arches
  • The Very Revd Vivienne Faull, Dean of Leicester
  • Dr Paula Gooder
  • Mrs Margaret Swinson
  • Sister Anne Williams
  • The Rt Revd Trevor Willmott, Bishop of Basingstoke
