General Synod - Summary of Business Conducted on Tuesday 10th July 2007 AM

The Archbishop of York paid tribute to the Rt Revd Peter Selby, Bishop of Worcester; the Rt Revd Colin Bennetts, Bishop of Coventry; and the Rt Revd Graeme Knowles, Bishop of Sodor and Man.

THE ARCHBISHOPS’ COUNCIL’S DRAFT BUDGET FOR 2008 (GS 1665)

Mr Michael Chamberlain, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Archbishops' Council, moved:

‘That this Synod now consider for approval the Draft Budget of the Archbishops’ Council to cover expenditure to be incurred in the year 2008, as set out in GS 1665.’

Following debate, the motion was carried. The Draft Budget was approved.

 

APPORTIONMENT

Mr Michael Chamberlain, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Archbishops' Council, moved:

‘That the net sum to be provided in 2008 to meet expenditure approved in Votes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 be apportioned between the dioceses in accordance with the Table of Apportionment (contained in GS 1665).’

The apportionment was approved.

 

The Archbishop of York paid tribute to Mr Michael Chamberlain's contribution to the work of the Archbishops' Council and the financial management of the wider National Church Institutions.
