Engaging with the media

Positive and negative comments from the public give the media important feedback. The links on this page will help you to address your comments correctly.

National Newspapers

Broadcasters' viewer and listener contacts

If you do not receive a satisfactory response to a complaint, the next step is to complain to a regulator, but complaints made before publication (for print media) or transmission (for broadcasting) are not considered.

There are regulators for newspapers, for broadcast media and also for advertising, premium rate telephone services and illegal internet content.

Where available, these links also provide access to the regulators' codes and their recent decisions.

National Newspapers

This is not an exhaustive list, but intended to provide contacts for some familiar papers. A letter marked 'for publication' can make your view known to a wider audience if published. Alternatively, if you do not want to see your comment in print, you should mark any correspondence 'not for publication'.
