In 1997, Revd Vera Hunt addressed General Synod and urged the Church to give deaf people wider access to the life of the Church of England. Last month, Vera took her place in the General Synod with two other representatives of 'Deaf Anglicans Together', marking a historic moment for the decision-making structures of the Church. They are supported by a team of three professional interpreters.
