Definitions:

This comparison of diocesan based clergy makes the following distinctions:

• Stipendiary clergy are diocesan based and paid by the central Church payroll.
• Non-stipendiary ministers (NSM) and ordained local ministers (OLM) hold unpaid diocesan licensed posts and exclude those, for example, with permission to officiate.
