Marriage

In September 1999, the House of Bishops issued a new teaching document entitled Marriage.  It sets out the Church of England's teaching and stance on marriage for this generation. It can also be accessed online.

Marriage to Partners from overseas

In February 2008 the MPA Council made a response to the Border and Immigration Agency's consultation on marriage to partners from overseas. The aim of the consultation was to seek a range of views to inform some changes to the arrangements governing the issue of marriage visas and to applications for settlement based on such a visa. Married Couple's Tax Allowance

In June 2006 a motion was moved by Mrs Joanna Monckton (Lichfield) at the General Synod. After debate the following amended motion was carried. Joanna Monkton's paper (GS Misc 824A) and paper produced by the Mission & Public Affairs Council by way of background (GS Misc 824B) can be read here.
