The national focus for rural mission and social engagement is held by the Church of England's National Rural Officer, based at the ecumenical Arthur Rank Centre (ARC), the Churches Rural Resources Unit, at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

The National Rural Officer holds an overall brief for all rural concerns. Advice on general and specialist rural church, community and other rural issues is available. Particular expertise on rural community, rural community development, mission and ministry opportunities, multi-parish benefices and training for rural ministry. A wide range of publications on rural church issues are available via the Arthur Rank Centre which also publishes Country Way Magazine.

Work is carried out at the ARC in partnership with the Methodist, United Reformed Church and Baptist national rural officers.

Within the Church of England, work is carried out through and in partnership with the Rural Bishops' Panel and the Rural Affairs Committee of the General Synod, for both of which the National Rural Officer is the secretary.

The Arthur Rank website carries detailed information and news of the Churches' work, policies and training possibilities in rural areas.
