All Saints was built in the 1870's, finished in red brick with a slate roof. It is a tall and spacious building with attractive stone arcades separating the nave from narrow aisles. There is a churchyard on all four sides. While there is a preference for the church to be retained and converted into flats for which there is planning permission, Sunderland City Council planners have indicated that demolition and redevelopment for housing purposes would be acceptable
