Legal Office advice on secular legislation

THE EQUALITY ACT 2006

This legislation – relating to religion and belief, and sexual orientation – was recently enacted and came into force on 30 April 2007.  Please find attached a copy of guidance on the new legislation issued by the Archbishops' Council.  It is intended to serve as a basic guide for dioceses, parishes and incumbents.  It should not be treated as a substitute for specific legal advice.
