Parsonages and Glebe Diocesan Manual

Our detailed guide to the procedures under the Parsonages Measures and Endowments and Glebe Measure.

This Manual provides legal and procedural guidance (including the consultative process) which diocesan administrators and their professional staff have to follow in seeking to carry out transactions under the Parsonages Measures and the Endowments and Glebe Measure.

It also deals with (1) our role in these matters including the consideration of representations; (2) the Parsonages Measures Rules including forms for use by the diocesan authorities; (3) restrictive covenants; and (4) loans (value linked; fixed term and temporary/bridging) to dioceses for housing purposes. It includes a glossary of terms.

Parsonages Measures: Summary of Legal Position

A checklist of consultations and consents on all parsonage transactions under the Measures.

Parsonage Measure Rules 2000 (includes Notice Forms 1-2 & covering letter)

Rules to be followed by Diocesan Parsonages Boards when serving notice on Patrons and PCCs (or Churchwardens) of proposed sales, exchange, building, purchases, disposition of proceeds etc. of parsonages together with statutory forms of Notice and recommended covering letter.

Parsonages Measures Recommended Forms (Notice Forms 3-7)

Various non-statutory but recommended forms of Consent and Notice for use by Diocesan Parsonages Boards in proposed parsonage transactions, including those for Shortened Procedure.
