There are 20 members of the Board which acts as trustee to the pension schemes and charities. The Board is assisted by an executive that administers the pension schemes, the assisted housing schemes for clergy, the charities and carries out the fund raising activities.
The constitution of the Board is laid down in section 21(3) of the Clergy Pensions Measure 1961, as amended by section 8 of the Pensions Measure 1997.
The Chairman is appointed by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York with the approval of Synod.
