Stuart Court Supported Housing Complex

Image of Stuart Court Supported Housing Complex

Stuart Court is a purpose-designed Supported Housing Complex based in the heart of the village of Kibworth Beauchamp, seven miles from the city of Leicester. The complex has accommodation for 37 residents, attractive gardens and is ideally situated for all the amenities and activities offered by the village.

There are 9 double and 21 single self-contained flats, all with patio or balcony. As in all the Board's supported housing complexes each flat at Stuart Court has a lounge with en-suite kitchenette facilities, together with a bedroom and bathroom with shower. Lifts provide access to the accommodation on the upper floors. The flats are centrally heated and double glazed and there is weekly support for those who need help to clean their accommodation. A laundry room is provided for personal washing. As the accommodation is unfurnished, residents are expected to bring their own furniture for the flat to make the surroundings as familiar and comfortable as possible. In addition to their own private accommodation, residents have the benefit of communal facilities such as the spacious dining room where three main meals a day are served, with a choice of daily menu. Special dietary needs can be catered for.

Gardening Enthusiasts at Stuart CourtThere are attractive, private gardens to the front and rear of the building and some parking spaces for those who drive.

Stuart Court has a resident Manager, Deputy Manager and Assistant Manager and is adequately staffed to ensure that the needs and welfare of all the residents are met at all times. Each flat is also fitted with a care-call system for any emergencies that may arise, day or night.

Lots to do for the enthusiastic gardener

Regular services are held in the chapel, conducted by the ordained residents. The parish church of St Wilfred is a ten-minute walk away and a warm welcome is extended to residents who wish to attend services or functions. The Mothers' Union and the WI both have regular meetings in the village hall which is situated next to the complex.

The village of Kibworth Beauchamp has a surgery, a chemist, optician, dentist and bank all within an easy walk of the complex. In addition there are several good shops used by residents on a regular basis. There is a good coach service from and to the centre of the village throughout the day to both the market town of Market Harborough, 5 miles away, and the cathedral city of Leicester. For those wishing to venture further afield, or for visitors, there are excellent road and rail links connecting to other parts of the country.

Residents are welcome to join in the active community life of the village. There is a new indoor/outdoor bowls club and a new cricket club with large viewing lounge and restaurant. The amateur dramatics society and the horticultural society meet once a month. The active Kibworth Historical Society also meets monthly.
